Niko Nordström named president of Warner Music Australasia

Niko Nordström has been appointed president of Warner Music Australasia.

Nordström, who previously served as VP, Warner Music Nordics and MD of Warner Music Finland, will now report to Stu Bergen, CEO, international and global commercial services for Warner Music Group (WMG), Nordström take on his new role after serving as VP, Warner Music Nordics and managing director of Warner Music Finland.

He replaces Tony Harlow, who was recently named president of WEA Corp, WMG's global artist and label services arm.

Bergen commented: "For the past decade, Niko has led Warner Music Finland, where he has nurtured local artists and broken international stars, while doubling our market share in one of the world's most advanced subscription markets. One of WMG's true stars, he'll be bringing his exceptional management skills, artist development chops, and streaming knowledge to this important post. I'm excited to see what Niko, our outstanding local team, and our extraordinary artists achieve together."

Nordström added: “I am thrilled to be taking up this new role. Tony has transformed this company into an artist-centric, fan-focused operation and I look forward to building on his achievements as we take Warner Music Australasia and our artists to new heights. This is a very exciting time to be at WMG, and I'm very grateful to Stu for his confidence and support. Finally, I would like to thank Jonas Siljemark, my long-term workmate Asko Kallonen, all my colleagues and all our artists in the Nordics for the most amazing ride over the past ten years."

Nordström will be based out of Warner Music Australia’s Sydney office and will take up his role following the completion of standard immigration procedures.
