WMG to open new financial shared services centre in Nashville

Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced the creation of a new centre of excellence for shared services in Nashville, Tennessee. To establish the new centre, WMG will move some of its US departments, including the US accounting operations, cash management and recorded music rights administration. Due to open in mid-2017, it will employ up to 175 people, with staff either joining the company or relocating from New York and Los Angeles through mid-2018. 

Robbie Williams set for 2017 stadium tour

Robbie Williams is to embark on a stadium tour in 2017 in support of 11th studio album The Heavy Entertainment Show, which is released via Columbia Records on Friday. The singer announced the news on his Facebook page. A date at Dublin's Aviva Stadium has already been confirmed, with the full tour schedule unveiled on Monday, November 7.

Stakeholders urged to submit views on EC's draft copyright legislation

The UK Intellectual Property Office is fielding views from across the music, publishing and entertainment industry on the European Commission's draft legislation to modernise the European copyright framework. The government is calling for UK stakeholders to submit their views on the draft legislation "to ensure that it delivers the best outcomes for all those affected by the measures", by December 6. Twickets to launch new funding round

Face value ticket resale platform Twickets is to undertake a fundraising campaign to enable the business to build on its growth and expand internationally. Original backer Chris Wright, co-founder of Chrysalis Records, is to lead the investment, with further significant investors to be announced soon.

Gifty Louise eliminated from The X Factor

There was a shock in last night's The X Factor live show as Gifty Louise was unexpectedly voted off the show. The singer lost the sing-off to girl group Four Of Diamonds, who found themselves in the bottom two for the second successive week. The broadcast also featured performances from special guests Bruno Mars and last year's winner Louisa Johnson.

Radio Rock Glasgow wins radio licence bid

Radio Rock Glasgow has triumphed in its bid for the 96.3FM commercial West of Scotland radio licence. Music promoter and venue owner Donald MacLeod, businessman and industry veteran Paul McManus and media entrepreneur Ciaran O'Toole were the driving forces behind the bid, coming out on top in the face of competition from Caledonia Holdings Ltd (GO 96.3 Glasgow), Original 96 Glasgow Ltd (Original FM) and Radio Clyde Ltd (Clyde Rocks).
