Partisan Records has appointed Bryant Kitching as publicity director.
The Brooklyn-based indie label with offices in London has recruited Kitching from Shore Fire Media, where as senior account executive he oversaw PR campaigns for artists including Bon Iver, Margo Price, Real Estate and First Aid Kit. His appointment is effective on February 5.
Partisan Records has enjoyed an international breakthrough with Cigarettes After Sex, who released their debut in 2017. Marking its 10th anniversary, the label’s current roster includes The Black Angels, Tender and Emel Mathlouthi. In the US, the label previously had success with Sylvan Esso and Deer Tick.
Kitching said: “I am incredibly thrilled to be joining the Partisan family. I’ve admired them from afar for several years – both professionally and personally as a music fan. Tim Putnam is a boundary-pushing force in the industry, and the drive and creativity he puts towards breaking new artists is inspiring. It was a fantastic five-year ride at Shore Fire Media, and I have nothing but appreciation for them as I embark on this new venture.”
He will be reporting to MD Zena White, who said: “We’re very excited to welcome Bryant to our team. He is an extremely talented publicist with an astute ability to develop narrative and strategy in a way that is valuable to our artists. As a label we recognise that marketing and promotion are more integrated than ever before and Bryant’s appointment will elevate our capabilities beyond the opportunities he will be creating for our growing roster.”
