PIAS appoints Lucy Francis as A&R to

As exclusively revealed yesterday in the latest issue of Music Week, former A&R manager at Imagem and director at Spilt Milk Management, Lucy Francis has been appointed as A&R at PIAS.

Francis will work with chief creative officer Jane Third in developing the PIAS labels, including Music Week Award winner Play It Again Sam.

In the new issue, team PIAS expand on how they plan on drawing on Francis’ experience in the “more commercial side of songwriting”. As well as developing the existing roster, Francis says she wants to “hit the ground running” in terms of signings for PIAS.

“My hope is that we share a great success together and push artists internationally,” she told Music Week. “I’m always driven by a passion for the music. But it’s not just about excitement, it’s about the potential and whether [an artist] fits the DNA of PIAS.”

Francis will continue to represent songwriter clients including Jonny Latimer (Ellie Goulding, Kwabs), Simon Aldred (Liam Gallagher, Rag’N’Bone Man) and Matt Hales (Lianne La Havas) at her firm 17 Days Music.

In April, Jane Third revealed she is launching her own imprint, Research, under the indie group’s umbrella.
