Universal Music had one of its most successful ever years in the 2016 BRIT Awards nominations, scooping 29 out of a possible 63 available artist slots – a 46.03% market share. That’s considerably up on the major’s 34.9% share of the nominations last year, as Virgin EMI’s James Bay and Polydor’s Years & Years both secured four nominations each, and Island scooped 10 nods.
