Warner Music France and Julien Creuzard have forged an exclusive partnership in order to create Elektra France.
In order to head the new label, Creuzard jumps ship from Universal France where he was head of Capitol Music in the territory and, more recently, Polydor. During his time at Universal he contributed to the success of stars such as Booba, Florent Pagny, Christophe, Sam Smith, Katy Perry, and The Lumineers, among others.
Thierry Chassagne, head of Warner Music France, said: “I am very proud of this new relationship with Julien, and I’m looking forward to much success in our venture together. This exclusive partnership to form Elektra France is great news for our industry and our company.
"Elektra France will benefit from Julien’s enormous expertise in the discovery and development of new talent. With this association, Warner Music France shows its continued commitment to the investment in and nurturing of outstanding artists and their music.”
Julien Creuzard said: “The Elektra label has a strong, powerful identity in music history. I intend to develop this identity in France, by working hand in hand with new artists through this exciting partnership with Warner Music France. I am ready and filled with enthusiasm for this new step in my professional career as we work together to create tomorrow’s music.”
Stu Bergen, Warner Music Group’s CEO, international and global commercial services, said: “The launch of Elektra France is another major step forward as we build our territories across the globe and develop our local repertoire centers. As we have proved time and time again, the success of our local companies is key to our global business and to breaking new talent both at home and across international boundaries. I welcome Julien to the WMG team, and join Thierry in looking forward to the great music we know he will bring into the family.”
