Agents Tom Taaffe and Anna Bewers join Coda from UTA

UK live agents Tom Taaffe and Anna Bewers have joined Coda Agency from UTA.

Taaffe was formerly at The Agency Group since 2010, which was acquired by UTA in 2015, while Bewers had been with The Agency Group/UTA since 2006, starting as an assistant, before being promoted to agent in the summer of 2013.

The pair join leading agents Natasha Bent and Geoff Meall in making the switch.

Taaffe said: “I’m excited at the idea of growing my roster with this company and learning off some of the very best agents that work in this business today. Coda has a great reputation for discovering and growing what is current in every genre.”

Bewers, who has worked with acts such as Nothing But Thieves and was nominated for Best Live Agent at the 2018 Music Week Awards, said: “I'm thrilled to be joining Coda Agency and to start the next phase of my career. The agency has a reputation for signing the hottest artists and I'm excited to work with some of the most innovative and dynamic agents in the business.”

Coda has also made a number of internal promotions, including promoting Andy Clayton and Ryan Penty to agents. The duo have been with Coda since 2009 and 2011 respectively and were both bookers for partner agent Alex Hardee.

As a result of these promotions, Hardee has welcomed two new bookers to his team, Holly Rowland and Eleanor Ashley, who have been promoted from working as agent assistants within Coda. Rebecca Bates, has also been promoted to booker for Mike Malak, who was his assistant previously.

Coda partner James Whitting said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Tom and Anna to the team. With all the knowledge they bring, in their chosen fields, we know they will thrive here. Congratulations also to Holly, Eleanor, Rebecca, Andy and Ryan on their promotions. We know they will excel in their new roles.”

Coda is partnered with Paradigm Talent Agency and launched a joint venture with Independent Talent Group last year. Its eclectic roster includes Liam Gallagher, The xx, Imagine Dragons, Sia, Rag’N’Bone Man, Bon Iver, Ellie Goulding, Take That, The Prodigy, Chvrches, Shawn Mendes, Years & Years, and First Aid Kit.
