AIM has partnered with The Great Escape on an indie hub for conference delegates and festival goers.
The festival is staged in Brighton from May 17 to 19. You can read about Music Week’s line-up here.
AIM House will be based at The Queens Hotel in central Brighton for the duration of the event and will be a focal point for the independent music community.
The indies’ trade body has teamed up with a range of independent record labels, music companies and organisations to deliver a programme of interviews, panels, workshops, after-parties and networking drinks over the three days.
Panels and interviews across the three days will feature speakers including: Imogen Heap, Matt Black (Ninja Tune), Chris Goss (Hospital Records), Ally Gillani (Bandcamp), James Grant (Anjunabeats) and Niko Michault (PUSH Music Management). Delegates will have the opportunity to book meetings in hotel suites, attend panels about the independent music business and participate in a charity music quiz.
Paul Pacifico, CEO of AIM, said: “The Great Escape is on the most important music industry events in the UK calendar and AIM has always been a big supporter. This year we’re taking things to a new level and AIM House will provide a fantastic focal point for the independent community. Our doors will be open to all delegates and festival-goers and we look forward to meeting old friends and new faces at the many activities we have planned.”
AIM has also teamed up with Music Support to offer a ‘Safe Tent’ facility where visitors to AIM House can find a quiet space away from the hectic atmosphere of the festival and talk to trained volunteers.
AIM House will also host AIM Lates, with two UK independent labels going head-to-head on the decks each night. Thursday night sees Ninja Tune take on Brownswood and Friday is Mute vs Partisan.
