Spotify has announced the return of its Who We Be Live show.
The spin-off event from the streaming giant’s playlist will be staged at the O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester on November 22.
This year’s Who We Be Live event will feature rap, grime, Afrobeat and R&B from the UK and beyond. Artists confirmed so far include Aitch and Tion Wayne, who have more than 303 million combined UK streams.
It follows a third edition in 2018, which was staged at Alexandra Palace and featured AJ Tracey, French Montana, Raye and NSG.
Who We Be is curated by Spotify’s in-house urban music team, led by Safiya Lambie-Knight. It is one of Spotify’s most listened-to playlists in the UK, with 549,000 followers.
Safiya Lambie-Knight, artist and label marketing lead, urban at Spotify, said: “We’re really excited to bring Who We Be Live to Manchester for the very first time and with an incredible line up. The UK has some of the most exciting artists in the rap, grime, afrobeat and R&B genres at the moment and we’re set to bring some of the very best performers to the stage this November.”
The playlist has also inspired the Who We Be Talks podcast and Who We Be Sessions, a songwriting camp for artists creating music within the genre.
