Boardmasters 2019 has been cancelled due to forecasted severe weather conditions, specifically high winds.
The Newquay festival was scheduled to take place from August 7-11 with headliners Florence + The Machine, Wu-Tang Clan and Foals. Lewis Capaldi, Razorlight, Sam Fender, Jorja Smith and Dizzee Rascal were also among acts set to perform.
Promoter Vision Nine said a final decision was made on Tuesday evening (August 6) following consultation with the relevant authorities, including independent safety advisors, Devon and Cornwall Police, emergency services and the Met Office.
"The safety of you, the fans and attendees, as well as performers and crew comes first, and the potential risk is too severe for the event to go ahead at this time," said a statement from organisers. "Refund advice will be shared as soon as possible - please follow Boardmasters’ social media for official updates.
"We sincerely regret the disappointment to fans, and apologise for any disruption caused to local businesses, performers and crew who were looking forward to Boardmasters as much as we were."
Boardmasters has confirmed that anyone who purchased tickets via the Boardmasters website and official ticket sellers will receive a refund in full for the face value of their ticket. More information regarding how to claim will be released as soon as possible via Boardmasters social media channels.
It is not the first time the event has been disrupted by the elements. It was previously forced to cancel the final day of its 2014 edition due to ex-hurricane Bertha.
