European arenas attracted more than 14m people to shows in 2015

More than 14 million people attended shows across European Arenas Association (EAA) venues last year, according to a new report. 

The EAA and National Arenas Association (NAA) organisations have combined their research efforts to provide a thorough analysis of European event data, looking at the number of sales, performances and attendance across their memberships for 2015.

EAA member venues attracted an average of 6,300 people per show, while NAA venues recorded just under 12.7m people, pulling in an average attendance of 5,828 . 

Music continues to be the most popular drawing in audiences of just under 7m people to 861 performances throughout the year for the EAA, while the NAA saw 7.7m people attend 1,111 music events. 

NAA venues include Dublin's 3Arena, The SSE Arena, Belfast, The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, GE Oil & Gas Arena, Aberdeen, Manchester Arena, Sheffield Arena, Echo Arena Liverpool, First Direct Arena, Leeds,Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, Ricoh Arena Coventry, Barclaycard Arena and Genting Arena in Birmingham, Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, Brighton Centre, Bournemouth International Centre and London’s Royal Albert Hall, Olympia, The O2, Alexandra Palace and The SSE Arena, Wembley.
