Happy holiday: Industry set for Biggest Weekend sales surge

Rhys Hughes, BBC head of live music & events, popular music, has told Music Week that The Biggest Weekend will be a showcase for “fantastic UK talent”.

Staged over four sites during the bank holiday weekend (May 25-28), the festival is a one-off in Glastonbury’s fallow year.

Hughes described the scale of the event – more than 100 artists across nine stages hosted by BBC radio networks – as “comparable” to Glastonbury. A total of 175,000 tickets went on sale ...
