Houghton Festival to return 'stronger than ever'

Houghton Festival to return 'stronger than ever'

Houghton Festival will return in 2020, following the cancellation of this year’s event because of bad weather.

The 10,000-capacity event in King’s Lynn, Norfolk in August was pulled in August ahead as a result of high winds. It was called off days after after organisers of Boardmasters in Cornwall cancelled their festival at the last minute amid storm warnings.

The 2019 edition of Houghton Festival would have been the third season of the electronic music event in the grounds of the stately home. It was due to feature Four Tet, Ricardo Villalobos and Derrick Carter.

Organisers have confirmed that the event will return on August 6-9, 2020. Priority will be given to this year's ticket holders, via private pre-sale ticket links.

Director Craig Richards said: "The strength of spirit created by the festival cancellation was a symbolic reminder of the integrity and resilience that exists within the electronic music community.”

He added: “The spirit of Houghton is stronger than ever.”
