Details have been announced of new Prague music festival Metronome, which will feature acts including Iggy Pop, Foals and The Kooks.
Organised in cooperation with the United Islands of Prague international music festival, both events will take place during the same weekend of June 25-26 in what is set to be the biggest music weekend in the history of Prague festivals.
Held in the Vystaviste Holesovice exhibition grounds, the event will also feature domestic artists and is being organised by Metronome Productions SRO, headed by David Gaydecka and Martin Vonka.
“Prague deserves to host a big music festival that connects urban atmosphere with a quality and exclusive music programming,” said Gaydecka. “We have a stable background, many years of experience and a long-term plan until 2023. We want to keep moving the festival forward every year, focus on the comfort of all festival visitors and offer them a perfect festival experience – already this year.”
Vonka added: “I like the idea of people coming to the Czech capital for a long weekend, doing some sight-seeing and spending their afternoon walking Prague islands and parks and listening to young and talented musicians at the United Islands of Prague. In the evening, they take a tram to the Vystaviste and get to enjoy world-class music stars.”
