Linkin Park have announced plans for a public memorial for Chester Bennington in Los Angeles.
Bennington took his own life on July 20. The singer, who was found dead at his home in LA, had a history of alcohol and substance abuse problems.
In a post on Facebook and Instagram, the band announced plans for a memorial event. They also thanked fans for the “tremendous outpouring of love, which has strengthened our spirit during this incredibly difficult time.”
“The five of us are so grateful for all of your support as we heal and build the future of Linkin Park,” said the statement. “We are working on a special public event in Los Angeles to honour Chester’s memory, and look forward to sharing details with you soon.”
Jay-Z paid tribute at the V Festival at the weekend by performing Numb/Encore, his collaboration with Linkin Park.
