London venues ULU and Duck N Dive to reopen under VMS Live

Venue management specialist VMS Live has agreed a partnership with the University Of London for the re-opening of the former ULU and Duck N Dive venues.

“Central London is short of great gig spaces and we think demand for an 850 and 250 venue respectively will be huge,” said VMS MD Steve Forster (pictured).

The company, which has managed Manchester Academy since 2012 and works with venues such as Liverpool Olympia, UEA and Waterfront Norwich, York Duchess and Warehouse 23 in Wakefield, recently secured agreements with Sheffield University Students’ Union and Preston Guildhall.

"There are three strands to what we do," said Forster, a former director of AMG and ex-MD of MAMA's live music division. "We promote shows in our own right and we promote shows on behalf of our clients. The way that we work as a concert promoter, a consultant and a venue partner means that we can potentially deliver benefits across all of those things."
