Manchester’s multi-venue live music event Off The Record has revealed the conference line-up for its second edition on November 10.
The showcase event was launched last year by three of the UK’s leading independent music festivals - Kendal Calling, Sound City and Bluedot - alongside music site Louder Than War.
By day, it will feature a music conference at the Methodist Central Hall, curated by Sound City and Louder Than War, and by night it will put the spotlight on new music, hosting performances from 30 emerging artists across seven venues, which include Jimmy’s, AATMA, The Peer Hat, Soup Kitchen, Gullivers, Night & Day and The Castle Hotel.
This year the likes of Brix Smith-Start (The Fall), Phil Taggart (Radio 1), Clint Boon (artist & DJ), Elizabeth Alker (Radio 6 Music), Jamz Supernova (1Xtra) and Mike Walsh (Radio X) will be choosing the new artists to perform, with the line-up kept under wraps until 24 hours before the event.
Panel titles for Off The Record's conference element include Love For Grime, Signed, Sealed, Delivered: All You Need To Know About Labels, How To Make Money From Merch, New Kids On The Block and What Happens On Tour No Longer Stays On Tour. Confirmed speakers include Ruth Barlow of Beggars Group, Live Nation's Alice Hogg, Phil Saxe of Factory Records and Despa Robinson of BE83 Artists.
In Conversation sessions will also take place with punk-rock five-piece Cabbage (pictured) and indie rock trio The Falseheads.
There are currently a limited number of tickets priced at £35 for an earlybird gig and conference pass, £20 for an earlybird conference pass and £15 for an earlybird gig pass.
