Mumford & Sons to play gig for War Child

Mumford & Sons have announced they will be headlining a charity event in aid of War Child.

The band will take part in the Winter Gala, which is the brainchild of their long-standing friend and artistic collaborator Ross Stirling, in London in November.

They will be supported on the night by Bear’s Den and Tom Grennan.

In a statement the band said: “We are stoked to be a part of the Winter Gala line-up this year in celebration of the event’s tenth birthday. Ross has been a dear friend of ours for almost all of those ten years, and fortunately this year we’re not off in another corner of the world on tour.

“This year’s beneficiaries, War Child, are a hugely important organisation to us, and this is going to be a great fundraiser and celebration of the hard work they do.”

This year marks the 10 anniversary of the gala, which over the last decade has raised funds for causes such as Help for Heroes, Coppafeel, Macmillan, and St Michael's Hospice.

The gala takes place at London’s Montcalm Hotel on November 3. Tickets to the black-tie event are priced at £150 and will include a sit-down 3-course meal with champagne.
