Today (March 26), a brand new one-day classical music festival christened By The River has been unveiled. The event will take place in association with Classic FM, and will launch this summer on the banks of Henley-on-Thames.
Created by Broadwick Live, and hosted by Classic FM presenters John Suchet and Margherita Taylor, By The River will take place on Saturday August 11 2018 in the Temple Island Meadows.
Confirmed acts scheduled to perform so far are Alfie Boe, Sir Karl Jenkins, Miloš, Laura Wright, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Voices and the Royal Marines Band.
Speaking about the event, Neil Wyatt, By The River with Classic FM Festival director, said: “We’re delighted to present some of the greatest classical performers in the world at one of the most unique and beautiful festival sites in the UK, and we’re excited to partner with Classic FM to make it happen. It’s going to be an unmissable and glorious evening of music in the summertime.”
This event will also feature a Farmers’ Market, a World Food Village and a variety of VIP experiences including champagne gardens, chauffeur and river taxi services, premium picnics and also private cabanas with waiter service for up to ten guests.
