Pixies, London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) and Jacob Banks have become the latest artists to join MelodyVR's music platform.
Music fans will have the chance to relive Pixies' 2017 headline show at Bluedot Festival in virtual reality on stage, behind the drum kit or in the crowd, as well as Banks' performance at O2 Kentish Town Forum.
Audiences can also now experience the Barbican Hall in a completely different light, with a special performance by the LSO, filmed during their celebratory Steve Reich at 80 concert with Kristjan Järvi. All three acts are available to experience in VR for the first time from today (November 22).
Becky Lees, head of LSO Live, said: "From the Orchestra’s beginnings in 1904 to the launch of LSO Live at the turn of the millennium, the LSO has always had a pioneering attitude, and we’re truly delighted to be launching this concert with kindred spirits MelodyVR."
Founded in 2014, and launched in May this year, MelodyVR has created VR experiences with more than 650 artists including The Who, Kiss, Kaiser Chiefs, Imagine Dragons, Wiz Khalafia, Post Malone and Niall Horan.
MelodyVR was recently announced as the music platform featured in the Oculus GO Facebook Christmas ad campaign. Featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa, the campaign will air throughout the 2018 holiday season to promote Facebook’s VR device, Oculus GO.
