Rag'N'Bone Man to headline Hogmanay in Edinburgh

Rag’N’Bone Man has been unveiled as the headliner for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert In The Gardens 2017.

Charlie Wood and Ed Bartlam, directors of Edinburgh’s 10,000 capacity Hogmanay party, said: “We’re delighted to have one of the UK’s most exciting new artists headlining Edinburgh’s Hogmanay in our first year of producing the event. This has been Rag‘N’Bone Man's year and so where better to end it than at the mother of all New Year celebrations in Edinburgh."

After breaking through in 2016 Rag’N’Bone Man, aka Rory Graham, has gone on to release a chart-topping debut album, Human, winning BRIT Awards and smashing records in the process. Click here to read Music Week’s dissection of the campaign with Graham and his team.

Human, the fastest-selling album by a male artist this decade, has sold 739,466 copies so far, according to the Official Charts Company. It has been in the Top 10 for 29 weeks in a row.

Lead single Human (1,261,334 sales) has hit No.1 on iTunes in more than 40 countries, while Skin has racked up 590,415 sales. Rag’N’Bone Man has toured heavily, performing to a packed field on The Other Stage at Glastonbury in June. He also starred at The Great Escape in Brighton.

Rag’N’Bone Man said: "Excited to be breaking the New Year in with the Scots at Edinburgh's Hogmanay, what a sick event for a debut show.”

Councillor Donald Wilson, Edinburgh’s culture and communities convener, added: “Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is the place to be to send off the 70th anniversary of Edinburgh as the Festival City and kick off 2018 with a stellar musical line-up. Rag‘N’Bone Man is a great coup for our world-famous Concert in the Gardens. Get set to enjoy the best New Year party in the UK, if not the world!"

Tickets to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert In The Gardens will go on sale on September 12 at 9.00am. Further line-up additions are to be announced.
