Shortlists revealed for Outstanding Attitude Awards

Shortlists revealed for Outstanding Attitude Awards

The shortlists have been revealed for the Outstanding Attitude Awards, which celebrates the best and most innovative live music access provision for disabled audiences.

Organised by music charity Attitude Is Everything, the 10-category shortlist includes awards for Tech Innovation, Customer Service, Accessible Infrastructure and Accessible Ticketing.

After being judged by a panel of fans and industry experts, winners for each category be announced at a special all-access ceremony on Tuesday, March 12 at Islington Assembly Hall.

Nominees range from outdoor events, arenas and brands - including BST Hyde Park, Download Festival, Motorpoint Arena Cardiff and Ticketmaster - through to acclaimed independent festivals and venues such as Deer Shed Festival, Roundhouse, Band on the Wall, and Brudenell Social Club and innovative business specialists like Vehicles For Change, GigLoo and the Nimbus Access Card + The Ticket Factory.

Suzanne Bull MBE, CEO of Attitude Is Everything, said: “This is such an awesome shortlist, and I would like to congratulate all of the nominees. There can’t be many award shows that cover nominations from live music’s biggest and most recognised global brands next to those from outdoor toilet specialists and tiny local venues.

"That’s what makes the Outstanding Attitude Awards so special. It highlights how, regardless of size, scale and budget, everyone has the capacity to tear down barriers and make music more inclusive. The only limit is our imagination, and that’s what we’ll be celebrating on March 12.”

A DIY Access Award has been named in honour of the late Nigel McCune, one of the charity’s first trustees and board officers.

The awards are part of Attitude Is Everything’s Breaking the Sound Barriers programme, which is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Arts Access and Participation: More and Better fund. The event is also supported by Arts Council England Sector Support Organisation funding.
