This week's Q&A is with Maurizio Vitale, director of Italy's Kappa FuturFestival, and Movement Turin.

How long have you been in your current role?
The first Movement Torino was held in 2006 following the Winter Olympics, but it took me some time to realise that the challenge was to make a full-time job out of it. So it has probably been 10 years now.
What is your favourite thing about working in the live music industry?
I feel blessed that attending music events and listening to talented artists is part of the job.
What is the one thing you would like to change about the business?
I would like to turn it into a contemporary, sustainable, integrated industry.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
I’d say four main points: to survive the toughest economic crisis since 1945; to employ 15 people on a fixed basis and twice a year up to 600 during the festivals; to contribute in improving Turin’s image abroad with overall benefits for cultural tourism in town and to offer clever entertainment formats for the new generations.
What is the best gig you’ve ever been to?
There are two I surely can’t forget: Danny Tenaglia marathon at NV, downtown Miami at the 2001 World Music Conference and Derrick May, Movement founder, best friend and world ambassador, spinning at his morning party in Amnesy Lainate in July 2011.
