Victoria Warehouse launches new Lou Reed-inspired live music series

Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse is launching Transformer, a new series of live music events inspired by Lou Reed.

Curated by the venue’s in-house team, organisers have looked to reflect Reed’s visionary approach to rock in the line-up of the inaugural event on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 28, with acts to include Swans, This Is Not This Heat - both who play their first Manchester show in 30 years; The Fall (pictured), Royal Trux, Loop, and Mueran Humanos.

The event will take place across two rooms of music, a record fair, food stalls, a cinema, and with more live talent and DJs to be announced.

“We never thought we would see the likes of Swans, Royal Trux and This Is Not This Heat all share the same stage, so it is going to be very special," said Victoria Warehouse owner James Cohen.

“We wanted to offer more than just great music so we have programmed film screenings and a record fair. We aim to create an indoor festival vibe that allows guests to really explore the superb space we have here at the Victoria Warehouse.”
