Wearable tech start-up Peex has partnered with Sir Elton John on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road global tour.
The audio technology firm aims to provide fans with a superior quality concert experience.
The Peex Live offering enables gig-goers to create their own enhanced five-channel mix of the live concert sound via the Peex rX wearable technology, which is powered by a companion app. Fans could, for example, opt to boost Sir Elton’s vocals or turn up the guitar solos using the technology.
Peex Live is active at select dates on the farewell tour, which is currently travelling across North America. Upcoming shows include Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York (March 8-9) through to Amway Center, Orlando, Florida (March 18).
Pieter Hamelink, CEO of Peex, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Elton John on his global tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road and seeing Peex live in action. Feedback from fans has been incredible so far. Elton fans can now appreciate their favourite artist in a new way, which was not possible before. We can’t wait to see the technology roll out further.”

Sir Elton John added: “Throughout my 50-year career, playing live has always been so important to me. I am passionate about giving my fans my best possible performance and making sure they get the best possible experience. Over the last three years I’ve been working with the talented team at Peex, who have developed an incredible new technology that will revolutionise the way fans listen to live music. Make sure you check it out.”
After years of development and testing at over 80 live shows in more than 15 major venues in the US and Europe, Peex has now launched and will be heading to the UK and Europe later this year.
Sir Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour started in September 2018 and will conclude in 2021, taking in over 300 shows across five continents.
