AEG Facilities – a stand-alone division of AEG – has announced that it has extended its strategic partnership agreement with The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland. As such, AEG Facilities will continue to augment venue support services for The SSE Hydro including event booking, venue operations, premium seating initiatives and sponsorship sales and marketing.
Speaking about the agreement, Peter Duthie, chief executive officer, SEC, said: “We are delighted to renew our partnership with AEG Facilities. The engagement with AEG has been very positive and we look forward to further successes working together in the future.”
Bob Newman, president, AEG Facilities, added: “The SSE Hydro has firmly established its position as one of the top venues in the world. We are truly excited to continue our partnership and to build further success on the great foundation now in place."
With a seating capacity of 12,000, The SSE Hydro hosts more than 130 events and welcomes over a million visitors annually. AEG Facilities led the creation of the 10-year venue naming rights agreement with SSE and additionally added sponsorship agreements with other partners including Heineken, Clydesdale Bank, Raymond Weil, IRN-BRU and Capital FM.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Tom Miserendino is to retire as president and CEO of AEG's European operations at the end of the year. The entertainment industry veteran will be succeeded by AEG Europe COO and CFO Alex Hill.
