Gaby Cawthorne has told Music Week she will continue to be “very much involved” in Ed Sheeran’s international development following her switch from Warner Music to Grumpy Old Management.
Cawthorne has taken the role of GM and will work alongside Stuart Camp, who was named Manager Of The Year at last month’s Music Week Awards.
“Ed and Stu are keen to have a global perspective at the core of their business,” she said.
Cawthorne spent 10 years at Warner Music UK, most recently as VP, international marketing. During the BRITs, she got a namecheck from a grateful Sheeran who credited “fantastic” Cawthorne for helping him secure the Global Success Award.
Cawthorne said there won’t be a direct replacement at Warner covering Sheeran.
“I’m still very much involved in the international development for Ed,” she explained. “Because I have those direct relationships with all of the affiliates around the world, it makes sense to utilise that knowledge. I know that Warner see it as a benefit to have me tag-teaming with them across this campaign and future campaigns.”
Sheeran’s ÷ campaign continues with the stadium tour currently making its way through Ireland ahead of UK dates starting at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on May 24. It follows a record-breaking run in Australia - and Cawthorne hinted that Sheeran will announce further international dates.
"The US tour takes him right through to November so there’s not much more we can squeeze in really [this year] but the plans are definitely coming together,” she said.
