The music industry has paid tribute to the late David Enthoven, who passed away last week.
Enthoven worked with several high profile artists during his distinguished career, managing Robbie Williams for 20 years. He also managed and named the band T.Rex, and worked with Brian Eno and Roxy Music after founding EG Records.
Jason Iley, chairman and CEO, Sony Music UK, said: “So very sad, we have lost one of life’s truly great people. David always looked on the bright side of life…with a great big smile…I will miss that smile.”
Max Lousada, chairman and CEO, Warner Music UK, also paid tribute: “David was a massive character who was loved and respected by artists and labels alike. He had brilliant ears and always found interesting, cool talent to work with and anyone who met him immediately saw his absolute passion for music and fierce respect for artists’ creativity.”
David Joseph, chairman and CEO, Universal Music UK, said: “This news is difficult to process. David had immeasurable warmth, generosity and laughter. More stories, anecdotes and wisdom than can possibly define a single life. A true honour to have known him. To say he’ll be greatly missed is nothing short of a vast understatement.”
