The Top Of The Pops Christmas Day special was watched by an average audience of 2 million people on BBC One.
The show featured performances from Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Rita Ora, James Arthur, The Script, Jonas Blue, Clean Bandit, Jax Jones and JP Cooper.
Broadcast in the earlier time slot of 12.20pm, the overnight figures - which do not take into account subsequent on demand views, represent an increase on the 1.92m viewers who tuned into the 2016 edition.
The TOTP New Year’s Eve special (BBC One, 4.05pm), which starred Sheeran, Craig David & Bastille, Paloma Faith, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Sigala, Starley, Mabel, Anne-Marie, The Vamps, Yungen & Yxng Bane, was watched by an average of 1.6m people. That was down on the 2.25m that saw the 2016 equivalent, which was broadcast at 5.20pm.
Meanwhile, Chic's performance for the BBC's annual New Year's Eve concert attracted 4.1m viewers prior to midnight and 4.8m when it continued afterwards. Robbie Williams' 2016/17 show show pulled in a peak of 6.6m.
