Capitol president to appear at Ultimate Seminar

Capitol Records president Nick Raphael will give the keynote interview at this year’s Ultimate Seminar, which returns to London on November 19.

Also lined up to appear across the event’s seven panels are songwriter Jin Jin (Jess Glynne, Tinie Tempah), producer Jonathan Quarmby (Benjamin Clementine) Wired PR’s Rachel Campbell (Stormzy), music and culture writer Hattie Collins, manager Eddie Agent Smith (Little Simz) and south London MC Yungen. More than 40 music business figures will appear over the course of the day-long event, with further additions to the line-up set to be announced.

Raphael, who signed artists including Sam Smith, Jay Z, Paloma Faith and Aloe Blacc, said, “I attended and participated in the seminar when it was at Hammersmith Palais many, many moons ago - it is testament to its importance and relevance that it is still going today and is stronger than ever. I cannot wait to return as speaker at this prestigious and important event."

Taking place at Westminster University, Ultimate Seminar is Europe’s only free major music industry seminar for aspiring musicians, songwriters and business executives. Registration is free and attendees are encouraged to take part in music masterclasses, get involved in discussions and participate in networking sessions.

The event is organised by non-profit music business Cre8ing Vision in association with the University Of Westminster. Founders Kwame Kwaten, Nicola Charles and Andrea Euell said, “The seminar is massively important to the UK music industry. It’s where tomorrow’s creatives and industry leaders meet today’s Presidents and Managing Directors to talk about the business of music. It’s an inspiring day that guarantees a thrilling music business story, a day that will enable attendees to go on and pursue their career goals because they’re armed with knowledge, real insight and advice.”
