Help Musicians UK CEO Richard Robinson exits with immediate effect

Help Musicians UK has today (July 18) announced the departure of CEO Richard Robinson with immediate effect owing to personal reasons. The news was confirmed in a message emailed to staff from Graham Sheffield, chairman of Help Musicians UK.

In the memo, Sheffield asked that Robinson’s privacy be respected and took time to thank the exiting CEO for his service to the company.

James Ainscough – who has been covering Robinson’s compassionate leave for the last month – will become Interim CEO with immediate effect until a permanent successor is appointed.

Speaking about the move, Ainscough said: "HMUK felt like home on the first day I arrived in April, thanks to the wonderfully warm welcome you all gave me. It is a huge privilege to stay for longer and to step up as Interim CEO; I do so with the utmost confidence in your talent and enthusiasm. Together we will continue to build on the charity’s strong foundations, moving forwards with a strong spirit of trust and collaboration (with which we will also embrace our many friends throughout the world of music). I will do my best to embody our collective Values and, together with the Directors, provide you with visible leadership and encouragement."
