Jazz FM Awards set to return in 2018

The Jazz FM Awards will return in 2018 for the fifth edition of the ceremony.

It follows this year’s awards, which drew music stars and artists including Georgie Fame, Sir Van Morrison, Sir Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts, Laura Mvula, Donny McCaslin, Soweto Kinch and Courtney Pine.

The 2018 event will be held at Shoreditch Town Hall on April 30, which coincides with UNSECO’S International Jazz Day celebrations.

The ceremony, produced by Serious, is dedicated to showcasing the diverse talent within jazz, blues, and soul. The awards show honours emerging new artists alongside contemporary icons and established musicians.

Jazz FM CEO Jonathan Arendt said: “2017 has been a remarkable year of stellar live performances, inventive collaborations and exceptional recordings. We are delighted to be working with the brilliant producers at Serious to reflect this all in the Jazz FM Awards 2018, returning to the Shoreditch Town Hall, our new venue partners.”

Nominations for the awards will be announced next year, along with recipients in special awards categories.
