Kobalt Music has signed up as sponsor of the Inspirational Artist Award category at the Music Week Women In Music Awards.
The fifth edition of the star-studded ceremony that celebrates the achievements of female executives and artists takes place at The Brewery in Clerkenwell on November 9. If last year is anything to go by, you can expect an awards ceremony bursting with impassioned speeches and major props from both UK and international execs.
Speaking about the partnership, Avid Larizadeh Duggan, EVP group, chief strategy & business officer, Kobalt, said: “Kobalt is proud to support this great event that shines the spotlight on some of the most inspirational and influential female artists and execs in the music business.”
Last year the Outstanding Contribution honour went to Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri, who told Music Week: “I feel really touched about [the award]. I’m very proud and hopefully I’ll be worthy of it.”
This year’s ceremony includes a new category of Music Creative, to be awarded to a woman in the UK industry who has made a significant contribution to the making of music behind the scenes through songwriting, studio production or studio technology.
The regular Women In Music Awards categories are also back this year, including Businesswoman Of The Year, Inspirational Artist, Campaigner, Rising Star, Music Champion, New Artist Award, International Woman Of The Year – won by Kobalt's Sas Metcalfe last time out – and The Company Award. The Roll Of Honour will also return.
