New edition of Music Week available now

The new edition of Music Week is out now, as we welcome Jo Whiley, Clara Amfo and Steve Lamacq to our cover to celebrate the return of Glastonbury.

In our huge interview, we speak to the trio about the BBC’s plans for this year’s blockbuster event and why it still has the ability to change artists’ careers. Plus, there’s even more insight from BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Target, BBC Studios’ head of music Mark Cooper and BBC Music head of content commissioning James Stirling.

And that’s just the start of our Glastonbury coverage. Inside, we also speak to Emily Eavis about 2019's line-up as the biz anticipates the return of the sales-boosting 'Glastonbury effect', we catch up with Two Door Cinema Club ahead of their Other Stage appearance, senior booker Martin Elbourne tackles The Aftershow and hitmaker Joel Pott tells us about co-writing what’s sure to be one of the festival’s biggest sing-along moment: George Ezra’s Shotgun. Plus, we collect a list of the best moments in Glasto history from a host of top names in the biz.

Elsewhere in the issue, there’s a special in-depth report about Neighbouring Rights, with input from the leading companies in the sector.

In news, we look at the rise and rise of big syncs in the TV world courtesy of Love Island and more, plus we look ahead to the arrival of the British Summer Time festival.

Isle Of Wight indie star Lauran Hibberd is featured in On The Radar, Sentric’s Patrick Cloherty is this week's Rising Star and Glastonbury Festival’s Nick Dewey reveals his favourite new sounds in Tastemakers.

Sync Story looks at the partnership between Sainsburys and Wiley, while Making Waves shines a light on Dirty Hit’s latest signing Oscar Lang.

As well as all of that, as usual, there’s the very latest, charts, news and analysis.

The issue is available in WH Smith and other good UK newsagents. To buy a copy direct, please email Rachael Hampton on To subscribe to Music Week and never miss a vital music biz story, click here.
