New edition of Music Week out now

The new issue of Music Week is out now and it's a special celebration edition, as we toast the winners of the 2020 Music Week Awards.

While the ongoing restrictions on events and social distancing requirements meant it was not possible for the traditional awards ceremony to go ahead this year, the victors will not go unacknowledged as we reveal who came out on top in each of the 26 categories in our bumper round-up.

We’ll be making the big reveal online at 10am, so be sure to stay tuned to musicweek.com and our Twitter pageRemind yourself of this year’s finalists here.

In this week's Big Story, we exclusively reveal huge news about a new JV that will shake up the world of independent publishing.

Also in news, the BPI’s Geoff Taylor explains how the expanded BBC coverage of this year's Mercury Prize can boost shortlisted acts during the pandemic, and we check in with BMG A&R consultant Korda Marshall and marketing VP Gemma Reilly-Hammond on their plans for supergroup/covers band The Jaded Hearts Club, who count members of Muse, Blur and The Zutons among their ranks.

In our latest Hitmakers, ace songwriter Stephan Moccio opens up on the power and pain behind the Miley Cyrus pop classic Wrecking Ball, while Deep Purple veteran Don Airey brings enchanting tales of Ozzy Osbourne, Rainbow and the Eurovision Song Contest to The Aftershow.

We catch up with Scottish indie kids The Snuts in On The Radar, Inside/Out senior publicist Isis O’Regan takes the Rising Star slot and Blackpool artist Zand is Making Waves. Elsewhere, O2's choice of Joy Crookes' cover of The Wannadies' You And Me Song to soundtrack its new ad is the subject of our latest Sync Story.

Alongside all that, we bring you the very latest charts, news and analysis.
