Show me the money: Shortlist for the first-ever accountancy category at the Music Week Awards 2019 revealed

Show me the money: Shortlist for the first-ever accountancy category at the Music Week Awards 2019 revealed

The Music Week Awards – without question the biggest and best night out in the music industry calendar – will return on Thursday, May 9 to reward the incredible achievements of the UK music biz.

The finalists for most categories at the Music Week Awards 2019 were revealed in February... All, that is, except for the Grassroots Venue: Spirit Of The Scene award, revealed last month, and the all-new category for Accountancy Firm Of The Year, which is open to any firm with clients in the B2B music industry, with staff based in the UK.

The new category opened and closed for entries on a different timeline to our other categories, taking into account that December and January are the busiest times of the year for accountancy firms. Entries poured in from across the sector so, without further ado, it is our pleasure to finally unveil the shortlist of top firms that will be fighting it out on the night.

The Accountancy Firm Of The Year category shortlist is as follows:

CC Young & Co

Hardwick & Morris

Hentons Panayi

MSE

Prager Metis

Skeet Kaye Hopkins

Upon announcing the award back in JanuaryMusic Week editor Mark Sutherland said: “Accountancy is one of the most important and growing areas of the music business. These are the firms that literally keep the biz in the black so it’s only right and proper that they should take their place in the Music Week Awards line-up. Plus, we know they’ll have the funds to get their round in…”

Last year, Music Week spoke to some of the accountancy world's leading lights for a special report exploring the sector's crucial role in the music business. Click to read it in full here.

The Music Week Awards take place on Thursday, May 9 at a new venue Battersea Evolution. Music Week and YouTube Music will be partnering for this year’s event, while MQA is official social media partner.
