Sofi Tukker are the latest act to raise their profile with an Apple sync. The New York duo’s new song, Best Friend, features on the advert for the iPhone X, which Apple launched today (September 12).

Best Friend, featuring Nervo, The Knocks & Alisa Ueno, was also played on Apple’s Beats 1 by Zane Lowe.

"This song is a celebration of our favorite thing ever: friendship,” Sofi Tukker explained. “It's about the kind of friendship where you can talk forever without anything in particular to talk about.”

Signed to Ultra Records, Sofi Tukker are a pop duo (Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern) who have already earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording for last year’s track Drinkee. They play a UK date at London’s Oslo on October 1, as well as a September 20 show at a secret location in New York for the Sofar Sounds and Amnesty International #GiveaHome gigs.

Best Friend is the latest Apple sync to raise the profile of a new act. Previous artists on Apple adverts include The Ting Tings, Feist and Tiggs Da Author.
