BBC Radio 2’s Helen Thomas has credited the station’s distinctive output with helping its listening figures bounce back above 15 million.
The RAJAR figures for Q3 saw Radio 2’s reach rise 3.2% quarter-on-quarter and up 1.4% year-on-year.
Speaking to Music Week, the station’s network editor said: “We’re delighted that in our summer quarter the figures went back over 15 million, and it’s the second highest reach we’ve ever had for the summer quarter, so we’re particularly pleased about that.”
