'A strong addition' ASCAP promotes Deepak Mohite to senior vice president, software engineering.

ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers has made Deepak Mohite its new senior vice president, software engineering.

The promotion within ASCAP's Global Technology Solutions division will see Mohite lead the oriagnisations engineering teams in product delivery, setting vision and strategy for software for customer-facing web and mobile applications. He also remains tasks with driving modernisation across all of ASCAP's systems.

“ASCAP is focused on providing cutting edge, elegant product experiences for our members and our licensees, and creating new efficiencies by moving all of our internal software applications and systems to the cloud,” said ASCAP's executive vice president and chief technology officer Tristan Boutros.

“Deepak has already brought energy, skill and leadership to these critical areas. He will be a strong addition to the GTS executive team while enabling our vision of a more automated and quality-first organisation powered by the cloud.”

Before joining ASCAP in 2018 MIT graduate Mohite had worked in a range technology roles holding senior positions at Tower Research Capital and The New York Times.

Earlier this year ASCAP reported that revenues for 2018 had topped $1.227 billion (£939m), an increase of 7% over 2017.
