'Bob Harris is a consummate music man' Peermusic UK seal deal with Bob Harris' Under The Apple Tree

Peermusic UK has started a joint venture with Bob Harris' Under The Apple Tree (UTAT) session platform.

The deal will establish a publishing division for UTAT at the company.

“Bob Harris is a consummate music man who has championed many iconic artists and songwriters throughout his career. He continues to be a trusted guide to millions who have music at the centre of their lives,” said Peermusic's president, Europe & managing director Nigel Elderton.

Welcoming the deal, the broadcaster and journalist Harris said the new arrangement will enhance his firm's – run with his wife Trudie and son Miles – ability to back new talent.

“We have been filming and recording Under The Apple Tree sessions for the past few years and have discovered a catalogue of wonderful new talent,” he said.

“I am massively proud that UTAT has now signed a joint venture with Peermusic, the biggest independent music publishing company on the planet. It will give all of us the opportunity to get behind the new talent that comes into our studio and really help the artists we love and believe in to get their music out to audiences across the world.”

Earlier this month Peermusic UK has signed brothers Adam Purnell and Lawrence Purnell of Americana duo Foreign Affairs to an exclusive global publishing deal.
