"Everyone at UMPG fought for this deal": Fenne Lily signs with Universal Music Publishing

Universal Music Publishing Group has announced the signing of Bristol-based singer-songwriter Fenne Lily to a global publishing deal. Fenne released her debut album On Hold last month, and has just completed her first UK and European headline tour.

Speaking of the signing, Mike McCormack (MD, Universal Music Publishing UK) said: “We are incredibly proud to have signed the wonderful Fenne Lily. From the moment we heard songs like Top To Toe and Car Park we thought Fenne had an incredible voice and her lyrics were beautiful, sincere and emotional. Everyone at UMPG fought for this deal and we look forward to being a long and successful partner for Fenne.”

Fenne worked on On Hold with producers Tamu Massif and James Thorpe, as well as PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish. She will be playing a host of festivals this summer, including Green Man and Festival Number 6.

In January, Universal Music Publishing Group announced a new agreement to expand the territories in which it administers Disney Music Publishing’s catalogue. The deal was enchanced to cover the UK, Ireland and continental Europe, as well as Israel and countries in Africa and the Caribbean. In February, UMPG signed Carly Simon.
