Fraser T Smith has signed a global administration deal with Kobalt for his own compositions and rights represented by his boutique publishing company, 70HZ.
Smith co-wrote Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain from the Grammy-Winning 21, and has also written for Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and Rita Ora. He earned a nomination for this year’s MPG Producer Of The Year Award and was at the helm for Stormzy’s debut.
Smith and his management team will be working with Kobalt’s international creative team to explore songwriting and networking opportunities. The partnership includes publishing administration for all future works as well as some of his recent catalogue.

Having first risen to prominence with his production and writing work on albums by Craig David, Smith has now become the go-to producer and writer for grime and urban acts. He produced Stormzy’s debut Gang Signs & Prayer, scored a US and UK No.1 as a co-writer and producer on Taio Cruz’s Break Your Heart and recently told Music Week he has been working with up-and coming rapper Dave.
“What drew me to Dave was his musicality and that he comes from a slightly different place to Kano and Stormzy,” he said. “He’s old beyond his years and not afraid to experiment. We’re using the same headspace as the Stormzy record. It’s about blocking out a considerable amount of time to make the record as good as it can be and I’m excited to push where he is going and see his development.”
Based in London, 70HZ was launched in 2014 by the producer and his wife and business partner, Sarah T Smith. The roster includes writers and producers Lostboy, Mele and Javeon, alongside recording artists Witness and Dakota.
Smith had a deal with Sony/ATV for compositions after 2010, while songs prior to that were represented by Chrysalis, which was acquired by BMG in 2010.
