The Ivors Academy has announced the first round of recipients of the coveted Gold Badge awards at The Savoy in London on October 11.

The 2019 ceremony will be hosted by Edith Bowman. It is the first awards since the rebrand from Basca.

The event is now in its 46th year. Contributions from across the industry will be acknowledged, including the worlds of music publishing, production and broadcasting, as well as champions of urban, dance, jazz and contemporary classical music.

Crispin Hunt, chair of The Ivors Academy, said: “For over 45 years we have presented Gold Badges to acknowledge those who have enriched and inspired the music creator community. The Ivors Academy is honoured to celebrate this diverse group of truly remarkable individuals, and pay tribute to their influence as highly influential champions of songwriters and composers in the UK.” 

The Ivors Academy Gold Badge is sponsored by PPL and PRS for Music. It takes place at The Savoy in London on the afternoon of October 11.

The Ivors Academy Gold Badge recipients for 2019 are:

Odaline de la Martinez, composer and conductor and artistic director of Lontano ensemble 

Jane Dyball (pictured), music publishing exec and former CEO of the MPA Group

Olga FitzRoy, award-winning engineer and mixer and dedicated campaigner for self-employed families

Nikki Iles, jazz pianist, composer and educator

Omar Lye-Fook, British soul music singer, songwriter and artist 

Thalia Myers, pianist and teacher 

Trevor Nelson, broadcaster and champion of urban music 

Chris Philips, broadcaster who has dedicated himself to the promotion of Jazz in the UK

Lohan Presencer, chairman of the Ministry of Sound Group 

Vanessa Reed, president & CEO of New Music USA and former CEO of PRS Foundation
