Music Week cover stars Kobalt have signed a multi-faceted worldwide publishing and recordings deal with The Wombats. The band's previous three albums were released by Warner Music UK's 14th Floor.
 
Both the publishing and recordings arrangements provide the group with a full range of services including digital and physical distribution, global marketing and campaign coordination, and sync licensing, while the publishing signing includes worldwide publishing administration for all future works.

The publishing partnership will also aim to develop frontman Matthew “Murph” Murphy as a songwriter for other artists.
 
Paul Hitchman, president of Kobalt Music Recordings, said: "We are all very excited about the new Wombats record. It may just be the best of their career so far and we are proud that the band and their team chose Kobalt as their partner for their first independent release. We look forward to working in partnership with the band and their management on a very creative campaign for the record." 
 
The band’s upcoming album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, is set to be released in February 2018.
