Mirrorball Publishing has joined forces with Universal Music Publishing Group, Music Week can reveal.
Based out of a North Hollywood studio, the company has acted as an incubator to upstream artists and writers but the new deal will provide a global structure for the publishing side of the business.
Co-president Stefan Skarbek said the global administration partnership with UMPG, revealed exclusively in the new-look issue of Music Week, meant Mirrorball’s songwriting team could focus on creating music “with a powerhouse behind us”.
Speaking in the latest issue of Music Week, Skarbek, who co-founded the company with producer Tony Maserati, said: “The whole point of the deal was to get worldwide administration, creative support and infrastructure.”
Harry Styles’ self-titled debut album is one of 2017’s biggest sellers and Mirrorball was heavily involved with co-write credits for its songwriters Mitch Rowland and Ryan Nasci.
