Mushroom Music Publishing has agreed to sub-publish fellow independent company Atlas Music Publishing within Australia and New Zealand.
Under the new agreement, Mushroom will now administer works by artists and songwriters including Van Halen, Counting Crows, John Legend, Alex Vargas, Toby Gad and Coyle Girelli.
Richard Stumpf, CEO and founder of Atlas, previously worked with Mushroom throughout his time at Cherry Lane.
Stumpf said: “Reuniting with Ian, Zoe and the Mushroom team is like a return to family. These guys know the work it takes to get things done.”
Ian James, MD for Mushroom Music, stated: “We are thrilled to be once again working with our friend and colleague Rich and his team at Atlas. Personal relationships in the music industry are as important as ever and having a fond history with not only with Rich, but a number of his Atlas staff, has been integral to our paths crossing again. As publishing companies continue to be bought and sold, it’s vital that the remaining independents unite to strengthen our position in what is a very competitive market place.”
