Ooh! Primary Wave Music acquires Gary Davies' Good Groove Songs

Primary Wave Music have acquired the catalogue of Gary Davies' Good Groove Songs.

The publishing company was established in 1999 by the DJ and his brother, entertainment lawyer Mark Davies, and includes All Saints' Black Coffee, Corinne Bailey Rae’s Put Your Records On and tracks performed by the likes of Kylie Minogue, James Morrison and Craig David among its roster..

“The catalogue of Good Groove is a fantastic collection of pop writers lovingly curated by Gary and Mark Davies,” says Janice Brock, strategic partner of Primary Wave Music. “Primary Wave is proud to become the new owners of such a high-quality slice of British pop music.”

Gary Davies, who has returned to BBC Radio 2 to present Sounds Of The '80s this year, said he had enjoyed his time as a music publisher.

“It’s been a wonderful 18 years working with such talented writers," he declared. "I can’t think of a better home for the Good Groove Songs catalog.”
