Spirit Music Group has appointed Angie Maggini VP, film and TV music.
In her new role, Maggini will be based in LA and will report to Peter Shane, SVP, creative services, Spirit Music Group. Maggini, who will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Shane, will work with the film, television, and trailer communities to create opportunities for Spirit’s writers.
“We’re very excited to welcome Angie to Spirit,” Shane said. “Her work over the years demonstrates how much value she brings to our songwriters with her ability to successfully place music, and it’s also earned her tremendous respect among her peers. She’s a wonderful addition to our team and we’re very glad to have her.”
In September 2016, Spirit announced a long-term administration and co-publishing deal with the music publishing division of Global Entertainment. The deal encompasses the Global music publishing catalogues in the US, UK and Canada. As part of the deal the two companies will focus on developing creative and administration opportunities for Global’s songwriters and artists, including Ellie Goulding, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jungle, The Script, LMFAO, The Vaccines, The Vamps, The Horrors, Coin, Mike Taylor, writer and producer Jeff Gitelman, Dawin, Jarami and many more.
“Spirit’s sync team is a great group and I’ve known many of them for years, so it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to work with them,” Maggini commented. “I’m also looking forward to working with such a talented roster of songwriters and incredible catalogue, and continuing my work with Global writers as part of Spirit’s new partnership with Global.”
Prior to joining Spirit, Maggini was VP, film and TV music licensing at Global Entertainment, where she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s synch licensing, including creative and administrative functions. She has also served as director of sync marketing at BMG.
