BBC One’s McMafia is one of the hottest new dramas of 2018 so far, with James Norton starring as Alex Godman, the son of a Russian criminal kingpin.
Its score, composed by Tom Hodge and Franz Kirmann (who have released three albums as Piano Interrupted) is as impactful as the violent visuals.
In fact, as Hodge tells Music Week, “It pushes the boundaries of ‘acceptable’ string writing. Some of it is quite challenging for a TV series, I think!”
