Universal Publishing Production Music (UPPM) has partnered with Score Addiction to launch a web application for tailoring production music online.
The app allows video editors, producers and content creators to search, find and customise library music for film, broadcast and advertising on their web browser.
The Score Addiction web application is the first of its kind for the UK market.
Currently the app will supply UK users with a catalogue of 40 albums, 26 of which come from Universal Publishing Production Music’s catalogue and 14 from Score Addiction.
Music within the catalogue is best suited for trailer and promotional music and includes tracks from labels including Volta, Chappell, Atmosphere and Universal Trailer Series.
Once a track has been selected it can be tailored within the app using a number of tools and does not require additional software.
With every track, users are able to mute and solo each instrument, adjust the volume of each instrumental stem and adjust the tempo of the selected track in real time.
Users can also synch their tracks to video, enabling direct customisation of music to on-screen dialogue, climaxes and transitions.
John Clifford, UPPM UK managing director, said: “This is the most innovative product of its kind, and perfectly addresses the importance of quality, flexibility and creativity in content creation. We’re very passionate about being able to offer our clients an advanced app with functions that allow them to expand their creative capabilities with ease, and gives them the ability to play with various stems and create new mixes from the web-based app.”
“As a composer I noticed an increased demand for stems from editors; they want extra control of the music that you can’t achieve with a stereo mix,” said Luke Gordon, Creative Director at Score Addiction. “I wanted to find a way to make music editing flexible, and above all, a fun process for the person who really knows what the music should do - the content creator! We couldn’t be in safer and more qualified hands with Universal Publishing Production Music, and we think this is a very exciting union for the industry.”
